How Smart Messaging Can Make Your Brand Stand Out
Insign US Newsletter - Edition #8

The internet has gotten loud. Everyone’s got a sleek logo, a punchy ad, a social strategy. But here’s the thing most brands miss: messaging isn’t just what you say, it’s how you earn attention.
Great messaging is the fastest way to cut through noise, clarify value, and be remembered. But too often, brands lean on vague taglines or buzzword soup that sounds impressive... until you read it twice and still don’t know what they do.
Here’s why sharp messaging matters.
You’ve got about 7 seconds to convince someone to care. That means your homepage headline, email subject line, or first social post better make your value obvious. Fast.
Take AI-transcription software Descript. Their homepage says: “Make video faster. Make more of it. And make it good.” Total clarity. You instantly get what they do and why it matters.
Or look at email app Superhuman: “Save 4 hours per person every single week.” It’s simple, aspirational, and quantifiable.
Compare that to something like “Empowering growth through strategic enablement solutions.” What does that even mean? If you have to read it twice, you’ve already lost the click.
So, how do you write messaging that hits?
Start with these 3 moves:
Be clear before you’re clever. A/B test headlines and hero copy for tone and comprehension. Don’t try to be overly smart. Clarity outperforms creativity when people are skimming.
Lead with outcomes not features. “Increase qualified leads by 35%” lands harder than “AI-powered marketing optimization.” Messaging should answer the customer’s question: What’s in it for me?
Stress-test your value prop. Ask 5 people outside your org to read your homepage or pitch. If they can’t explain what you do in one sentence, your messaging isn’t working.
And don’t forget: smart messaging doesn’t just help you convert customers. It aligns teams, guides product decisions, and makes your entire go-to-market strategy more cohesive.
Bottom line: If you can’t clearly say what you do, no one else will either. Strong messaging wraps your positioning, strategy, and competitive advantage into every word.
